About Us

The Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority (CCMWA) is a regional public utility that provides potable (drinking and fire protection) water on a wholesale basis to 11 retail water suppliers, one industrial customer and one institutional customer and is the second largest supplier of safe drinking water in Georgia. Our mission is to acquire and treat sufficient sources of water for our customers and the communities they serve, while leaving a legacy of sustainable water supplies for generations to come.

Although CCMWA does not have residential customers, it values the importance of keeping the water consumer satisfied and well informed. CCMWA has built a strong reputation of success by investing in the protection of the precious natural resource of water and through conservation programs such as waterSmart while maintaining dependable customer service and consistent product quality.

Blackjack Mountain Water Tank Removal Project

Starting in late November/early December CCMWA will begin a water tank removal project at 1660 Barnes Mill Road in Marietta.

The Blackjack Mountain Water tank is almost 60 years old and has been out of use for the last few years. As a safety precaution, we have decided to remove it as the other tank onsite will be sufficient to meet the system's needs. Removal of the Blackjack Mountain water tank is expected to last a couple of months.

This work will affect traffic in the vicinity of the location on Barnes Mill Road. Periodic road closures will be necessary so that trucks can safely enter and exit the site. Flaggers will be on hand to guide traffic during these times.

Work hours: Monday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Hours for Periodic Road Closures - 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
